TOTAL FIRE BAN - NO OPEN BURNING |
| The Fire Depts within the West Parry Sound Area will, again this year, adopt a common Forest Fire Rating System, in an effort to help the residents and visitors to our area better understand the Fire Rating in effect. |
|
Fire Ratings Boards can be found at the following locations:
- Highway #69 at Ray's Diner. - Rosseau across from the liquor store. - Intersection of Oastler Park Drive (formerly Highway #69) and Hunter Drive (formerly Highway #518). - Orrville at the intersection of Tally Ho/Swords Road and Highway #518. - The following waste transfer sites: Brooks Road, Humphrey Municipal Office, Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport and the Chrsitie Landfill Site. |
After November 1st and until March 31st burning may be permitted in the day time, provided that the fire is smaller than two metres at the base and the flame is less than two metres in height. The property owner is still liable if the fire is not contained and fire safety practices still apply.
