2010 Municipal Election
Notice of Nomination for Office NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Township of Seguin that Nominations for the offices of Mayor and Councillor may be made by completing and filing, in the office of the Clerk, nominations in the prescribed form. How to be Nominated: a) Obtain nomination papers from the office of the Clerk; b) Candidate or Agent to deliver the completed nomination papers to the office of the Clerk between 9:00 am and 2:00 p.m. on Nomination Day, Friday September 10th, 2010 or during normal office hours between January 4th, 2010 and September 9th, 2010 inclusive; c) A nomination filing fee of $200 for the office of Head of Council (Mayor) or $100 for all other offices (Councillor), must be paid at the time of filing, payable to the municipality in cash, certified cheque or money order. The fee is refunded if the candidate is elected or receives more than 2% of the votes cast in the election for the office or withdraws the nomination; d) Nomination papers may be filed in person or by an agent but not by fax or email; e) Nomination papers must be certified by the Clerk before such person becomes a certified candidate.
