The Municipality of McDougall, Town of Parry Sound, and Seguin Township's
Market Study and GAP Analysis

Public Consultation

The Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee (REDAC) hired Malone Given Parson Ltd to prepare a joint Market Study and GAP Analysis for the Municipality of McDougall, the Town of Parry Sound and Seguin Township. The market study process defined the area economic and business context in order to identify community specific strategies for encouraging economic growth and diversification.

A comprehensive statistical overview of the area was completed, identifying strong and growing industries within the three municipalities. Local business owners, in these key sectors, were then consulted in a series of workshops, in order to gain insight on issues, opportunities, gaps and development priorities. This feedback was compiled into a draft report, which included recommendations and respective implementation plans. The draft plan was presented to the public for feedback on Thursday, March 27th, 2008.
